Yesterday my dad had mentioned going to Canmore to test out his new camera. I love spending time in the mountains, so I said I’d go with him if decided to go. This morning he said he wanted to, so off we went. The drive from Calgary to Canmore is so beautiful with the mountains in front of you. Today was a pretty clear day so they were really crisp and clear.

It was my first time in the mountains in about 6 months. I know, it sounds like a long time, but it feels like even longer. I was in Lake Louise the last time. We hiked here and here. While there wasn’t any hiking involved today (there’s still lots and lots of snow everywhere), we did walk up and down each side of main street.

We ended up at a store we discovered last time we were in Canmore the Mut Hut Pet Emporium. They have all kinds of things for dogs. Last time we got jerky and cookies which Bailey loved, so we knew we’d have to get a few more goodies today. We ended up with duck jerky, bone shaped cookies (with icing!), and a cannoli filled with what smelled like some sort of peanut butter filling.

It was nice to get out of the city, even though it was only for a couple hours. It’s amazing how much more relaxed I am once I’ve spent even a little time in the mountains. We gave Bailey the cannoli when we got home. He ate it so fast pieces went flying everywhere. I’d say it was a success.
